What happens at a community growing day?

WalthamForest Living · 1 min read

Sunny community allotment plots with raised beds and neighbouring houses

Community growing days are relaxed, friendly sessions on the plot. We start with a cup of tea and a quick plan, then split into small jobs — sowing, weeding, watering or turning the compost.

No experience is needed and tools are shared. Beginners pair up with regulars, and everyone takes home a share of whatever is ready to harvest.

It’s the easiest way to learn, meet neighbours and see whether an allotment is right for you.
